World War I - Walk of Remembrance
Remembrance Sunday 2014
Christian Connection organised a very special walk around Central London, stopping at various points to commemorate the Great War.
It was fortunately a very beautiful day, and London was thronged with servicemen and their families who had been at Cenotaph that day.
The atmosphere was both vibrant and moving. Guided by Mark, Charlie and Emmanuel, we were transported to another era - where thousands eagerly signed up, and where people both celebrated and mourned the War. It was a memorable tour and enjoyable and unique experience.
"I had a truly memorable day last Sunday on the Walk of Remembrance. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and the 3 guides' enthusiasm for their subject and extensive knowledge were infectious.
"I learned a lot and discovered bits of London that I had missed before. I especially appreciated Charlie's insights into the role of women during the war. All topped off with fabulous sunshine made it a great way to spend a Sunday. Thank-you to all the organisers and guides."
